It's not to everyone, I believe it is 1 in 100th non-gmail account user. It's their way of giving out the last ones before they go public.

It turns April 1st for Google (PST) in one hour and 5 minutes. I'm too tired, so I can't wait it out (not like I would want to). But will it go public in an hour in 5 minutes? We're have to wait and see!
