    Downloading Music

Does anyone here use a particular site to download music, that has no strings attached, no bugs or viruses and is legal. I have never DL any music, because when I first started computing, there was too much controversy surrounding the issue, so I just never went there. Thanks!

If you have RealPlayer, you can download music through them. I think it is like $1.00 a download. I don't download music either. I usualy go buy the cd, that is the safest way, but if I want just some songs and not the whole album, that is probably the way I would go! That waqy I know I would get a good download!

Truthfully if your on dial up its a waste of your time unless your downloading an individual song and not the entire album. Here in the US there are two major ones, both cost. Depending on how much you will be downloading one may be better then the other

    iTunes
    Napster

That would be about the same price as buying a CD. A CD contains about 12-15 songs.

Yes Tyler, I was thinking about individual songs. So, iTunes and Napster are both safe to use?

S7, It's nice that you can still share files, but I can understand the argument of the music industry too. I noticed the Marijuana thing at the end of the article. Are they referring to Medical Marijuana?

I realize this. That is why I go buy then, but if you wanted a song here and a song there it would be cheeper then buying a whole album for 1 song. Anyway you go it will cost you. Thier may be son=me that are a little cheeper. I don't know! I don't download music! Good luck and if you find a good place that isn't over priced post it. I might be interested.

Yep iTunes and Napster would both be good. I would check out their plans to find out which one you like best. Napter has unlimited downloads for $10 a month if I remember correclty. If you ever get an IPod be sure to get iTunes.

Unlimited download for $10 would be great. I've seen Napster in the news lately though. http://informationweek.securitypipel.../news/60401821 Quite sure they will get things straightened out. I'll probably look into it soon. My brother and I sat on his computer some years back and he downloaded tons of music from them. They had a really good selection of music at that time, so I'm guessing they would still have the same great selections now.
