This site like many others offers Free computer help. The people that help you are people who read the forum and decide they want to try and help. They do this for free and may or may not be part of the site it's self. SO you must take all advise with a bit of caution. If you bookmark...let's say this site and you come here and get answers and you start to see names that are familar it is easier to trust the information provided to you.
Why are tech forums a good place for help? main thing is it is free, the other is you dont always have to take just one persons opinion and other people reading the forum sometimes catch mistakes or problem causing information.A think-tank many people with computer knowledge can pool ideas and solve a problem not yet addressed anywhere else. A forum allows a person time to think about or look up information without feeling like they are on the spot to answer right then providing much better answers.

PTO (the original admin) is sadly no longer the Admin on this site.

I posted that, as a caution that not all advice you fiind on any site is right, or even works. Some people even give people harmful advice because they think it is funny to do so. Who am I.no one really, a name on the net. Not any different from yours. I have seen alot of things and been here a very long time. I help in forums like this one because it is something I enjoy doing. I dont want credit, a pat on the back...once in a while it's nice to see a thanks. I met the best net fiend I ever had in yahoo chat, windows help room 2 and some turds were telling him how to fix his registry to fix a font problem that had nothing to do with the reg. I sent him a message and told him not to apply the change and explained why.
I see redneck ego junkies giving bad advice at paltalk, other forums,....I been doing this so long it is actually sad. I have been a moderator at a few programming sites, senior member of so many different forums I cant remember the names of. I am old in the terms of the internet, just about to turn 35 I have had a computer of some kind since i was 12. Does this make me a expert, no....no one can be, this al changes so fast it is all anyone can do to keep up. When people new to the net find a forum, they may misunderstand that this is free help from the general public and not paid professionals. I see people claim to be IT, sys admin or some glorious title then they make stupid mistakes and show they really are not. POINT BEING take everything you find on the net at face value.
I can do a google seach for my nics and get hits from thousands of links per name i have used...who are you?
