Trying to help a friend get online HP Vista DSL
Computer just spins after two to three minutes it is still trying to open web page .

ISP says it is on his end .

Computer was sent back to HP to be fixed [Don't know what they did]. He did a sys restore.

I ran Superantispyware , malwarebites . No infections .
HJT log looks clean .

Tried Ipconfig /flushdns,Ipconfig /registerdns , Ipconfig /release ,Ipconfig /renew .
and Netsh int IP reset reset.log

WinSockFix gives run time error code 53 Not valid IP Address
DHCP is enabled
Gateway Address is 192.168.1.1
Subnet mask is 255.255.255.0
tried connecting in safe mode . no go .

Any help would be appreciated .

Were the drivers reloaded?
