Who's recommendation is this? Some of them are useful & trustworthy. I recognize that some aren't.

I agree. Who is making this recommendation? It really does little good to come to a forum and make a blanket statement without any justification.

That facts are, from my viewpoint, is that some toolbars are very helpful and beneficial and the Yahoo Toolbar is one of them.

However, I will add that I recommend the use of only one of the same type of toolbar - for example, use the Google Toolbar or the Yahoo Toolbar, but not both. And I will add that it is best to always choose the "Custom" Install options when installing any program so that you have the option to opt-out of installing any toolbars not wanted. And for those those toolbars that are installed, I recommend following the installation process carefully to ensure only those options desired are installed as well. For example, you probably do not need the toolbar's auto-updater running full time.

I will also add that toolbars and add-ins (BHOs) are also the one of the most common causes of conflicts and browser issues.

Finally, this is not Hardware issue - so I have moved the thread.

mattstermind are you merely claiming that all toolbars are evil & bad or do you have some credible source to cite and share with us. Don't get me wrong if you do then we would be happy to review it & give you feedback. If you are merely claiming such, then what are you basing your claim on? What experience do you have to make such a statement? You have to be careful here in the advice that you give other users. Do your homework.
