BT Broadband connection issue
Hi there,
I am currently using a D-Link DI-824VUP+ router with a D-Link DS300T ethernet modem. I have had this system running with Tiscali for some time and recently decided to switch to BT.
When I got the BT home hub, I connected it up and could surf the net straight away. I then tried to connect my D-Link router into the BT home hub, but the BT home hub did not recognise the D-Link router. I then noticed that the BT home hub did not have some of the more important security features, that I have used with the D-Link router.
This is where the 'fun' began...
To start, BT did not provide me with my BT Broad band user name or password. A quick phone call soon set that straight though. I copied across the Primary and Secondary DNS settings from the BT home hub to the D-Link router, then re-connected the D-Link modem to the D-Link router. I also entered the BT username and password. This should have worked, according to BT, but didn't.
Since then I have tried a few different ways of trying to get the D-Link setup to work, including restoring the Tiscali settings to the router/modem and changing the username/password only.
Am I being dumb and is there something blindingly obviously that I have missed?
Could you help me please?
Cheers
