awkward offline messages in messenger
sometimes when i sign in with my hiotmail id in the windows live messenger i get offline messages from some of my friends ( usually only one at a time..that too not always..occassionally ). these messages contain unusual informations as " be happy " or " bring a smile on your face " with the link to some webpage. well i haven't tried any one of those sites clicking on the link.
can anybody tell me what are they ? am i receiving those because my friend's computer is infected with virus or is it mine that's infected ?
sometimes it's really annoying

Well, my advice is to NOT click those links. Chances are they're links to virus filled sites. I've tried them twice (back when I just started using the computer) and both times got hit by viruses. Yeah they're probably viruses and your friends were probably offline because they wanted to save you.
When I got the virus, it would autosend to all my contacts. Luckily for me back then MSN didn't support offline messaging.
But anyway, your friend's computer is probably infected with a virus so stay away from the links. Your computer should be fine as long as you didn't go there =D
