    Wireless doesn't stay connected

i recently had my computer wiped of everything because of some virus that stopped my pc completely. I got it home and realised i didn't have the software or anything for my card any more and couldn't find the CD...so i went out and bought myself a Belkin internet adapotr thing wireless card for my pc.

I installed the disk, and put the card in, no problems, it detects signal, strength full aswell but it tries to connect then fails...it just repeatidly does this...any idea what causes it? My route is netgear...if that matters.

    ,thanks

Often, it is best to ensure your router's wireless channel is not set to Auto by default. Change the wireless to a static channel and experiment as necessary to try and get a more reliable connection. See, for example:

Belkin : Support : Frequent wireless disconnections from the router/AP (Access Point).
You are not able to connect wirelessly mainly due to environmental interference. When the wireless channel is set to auto, the router will cycle to though channels when it detects significant interference. When the router changes channel the wireless connection will reset itself and disconnect all wireless clients connected to the router.
