Internet disconects after a few minuites

I am running windows Vista and have a Sky broadband conection, the problem is that after a while the connection is lost, if I try to repair the network connection I get a message telling me that it cant be repaired automatically. Any ideas as to what i can check?

    Thanks for any advice.

how long have you had the problem?
before you had sky broadband did you have any other broadband down the phone line if so was that OK?

I have had Sky for a while but only recently the connection seems to be playing up.
I have been in touch with Sky and they are "going to get back to me"
May be a case of wait and see what they have to say. I was just wondering if there is anything I could do in the mean time.

are you running wireless or with wires?

if wireless how do you connect with a USB dongle?

if wireless try an ethernet cable from the PC to the router.

I am using both, my laptop runs wireless and my desktop through a wire.
I find that using the desk top causes the conecction to drop out, I havent noticed it with the laptop.
