Red face Wireless for Dummies 2

I have an old IBM Thinkpad 360cse running Windos 95

    Memory: 12.0 MB of Ram
    File System: 32-bit
    Virtual Memory 32-bit
    PC Cards (PCMCIA): 32-bit

I want to make it wireless . . . but, this is what a dummy I am or maybe I'm just a typical blonde, is it wireless already?

I have a wireless internet service through a local utility company (for my Lenovo), is it possible to set up this service on the 360? Do I have to get a PCMCIA card and a router!?!

I'm not a total computer dummy, I'm just hardware iliterate.

    Thanks for the help.

    Suzanne

well, it defenately wont be wireless ready. You will need a PCMCIA card. If you have wireless for your other laptop you should be able to connect the 360 though a PCMCIA card to that connection..

I have a couple of laptops that don't have internal PCI wireless cards like your IBM. Found that the old Netgear wireless B pcmcia cardbus works well with Windows 95. Drivers are on netgears website. Cards go for about $!.99 to $3.99 from ebay. I run a Belkin Wireless N router at home that interacts with it. I suggest when looking for a card to make sure it interacts with the pcmcia slot correctly and that the drivers for the card support windows 95 eron up. Believe it or not the wireless B is just as quick on our router as the internal G on our other laptops.

Thats because when your wireless B is connected, the router is then running at wireless B, meaning all of your other laptops are running on wireless B.
For some reason, the router will only run as fast as the slowest wireless..
