Is there a way to open multiple web links at once?

ie, on any web page which has multiple links leading away from it, is there a way to select all or some of the links to open simulateously (preferably in a new tab/window)?

either in Internet Explorer or Firefox.

    thanks for any help.

    James

I am not aware of any program that does that, but I am not sure that is a good idea - not from a security standpoint anyway. It seems it might be too easy to select more than you bargained for, including spyware, or something more malicious.

One at a time seems like the wisest choice to me.

yeh, i see your point. It would be controllable so you only select the ones that you were going to open anyway. it just saves time when searching so you only have to close the ones you don't want rather than open - and - close.

When searching what? Through Google or the like?

it's more a case of gallery sites which have links, to say pictures of cars, and i only want to see the red ones, or the ones made by Ford for example, so instead of slogging through loads of links having to individually open then close windows, i'd really like it if i could open all the links at once and then close the ones i don't want. Closing is easier as it involves just one movement rather than back and forth.

eg on a page like this Index of /fotos/johns-cars if i was interested in the potential of every link but most won't what be i'm looking for. does that make sense?

Hmmm, yeah, I see the advantage to that feature - but again, from a IT security standpoint, all kinds of red flags are waving from atop of the tiny hairs standing tall on the back of my neck! We teach not to click on links unless you know where it came from and where it is going. And that's the issue. If you had total trust in a site and its content, this would be doable. But even the best sites will hide ads and tracking objects, or have links to "affiliates" - and even the best sites can, and have been, hacked.

I would sure want to make sure my phishing filter and anti-malware scanners are up to date and running fine.

Perhaps someone else reading has some ideas. If you find something - post back and let us know.
