Firefox 3 Pages Don't Look Right

    OS: Windows Vista Home Premium
    Browser: Firefox 3.0.1

When I installed Firefox 3, quite a few pages show the text over each other, in a jumbled up mess. So, I can't read the text, or click on the links. (Installing Firefox 3.0.1 did not fix the problem.)

On a lot of pages, when I fill in a box, the top part of the text shows, but usually not quite enough to read the words.

On some pages, the links are hidden under other items, so I can't get to the links to click on them.

I reinstalled Firefox 3, and that didn't fix the problem. Firefox 2 didn't have the same problems. Resizing the text doesn't help.

Internet Explorer does not do the same thing, and it works right.

How do I figure out what is wrong?

    Thanks.

I don't know anything about Firefox 3 because I haven't installed it yet. For now I'm sticking with 2 because it works & I figured that until it is really established, they might have some problems with it. If you are having problems with the new or you don't like the new, some times it is worth staying with the old. Wish I could be of better assistance.

Firefox 2 worked fine, except Firefox 3 is much faster.

I even tried a different user-profile and the same problems happened in the new profile.

I'm wondering if there is a way to install FF 2 so it can work without uninstalling FF3?

No & FF 2 would still be just as fast as it normally is even when installed alongside FF 3. Sounds like your choices are to either put up with the way the web pages look, or use FF 2 until a newer version comes out. You can look Here to see if you can find out anything about this problem. Maybe you'll find out what is going on & if it can be fixed. Or you can try emailing them.

Something else I just thought of is that this can be caused by a virus and/or spyware. Try starting a new thread in d-a-l's virus/spyware/malware section to see if they can help you on that because I can't & you have to post the threads there. I think that only approved members can help with malware because it is such a complex & delicate problem. I won't even try to help you on that because I don't want to make them mad & then to have them close my account. Go to the following sites to find out to work with them on this.

    http://www.d-a-l.com/help/spyware-ad...uncements.html
    http://www.d-a-l.com/help/spyware-ad...tructions.html

Go to this site to post your own thread.

Be sure to explain the entire situation just like you did here. Good luck.

Save 20% on AVG Internet Security 2012 Suite!
Also make sure you are using the latest video card drivers, something similar happened to me when I didn't install mine. It looked huge and messed up. It's worth a shot.
