have vista 6 with spk1, ie7, 3gb ram, 320 gb hd. i suddenly cannot run nor save downloads. a screeen flashes right before the run/save dialog box opens but cant see what it might be. have reset ie settings to factory setting and no difference. appreciate your thoughts.

Is it only 1 download that won't work or does nothing work? Have you tried Firefox?

Just a thought, you should use Firefox anyway. It is faster, simpler, and more customizable.

no download of any kind will run upon request at dialog box nor does it save where i tell it to. after saving, i open folder or look on desktop and nothing.

Did you try to use Firefox? If it works, then there is something wrong with Internet Explorer. I'm sorry, but I never use IE so I wouldn't know how to fix it.
