Laptop Intel Wireless Card isn't seeing Network...

    Hey guys,

Hope this is the right place...

Basically, my friend has an oldish laptop - (XP Home, 40gb HDD, 256mb RAM)
It's a patriot 3060. It has internal Intel wireless card in a mini Pci adapter.

Suddenly it decided not to work and now pretends not to see any wireless network which it is around. In device manager it comes up and says it's a working device.

I've looked in the back under the back panels and it appears plugged in correctly.

I'm not sure what else to try really... has anyone else ever had this problem?

    Thanks in advance

    Joe

First I would scan it to rule out that malware isn't the cause. Ive seen malware cause problems like that where they seem to be hardware related.

If your malware scan comes up fine, I would then just uninstall and reinstall your card and respective drivers and go from there. Of course, it is possible that your minipci card could have gone bad, although not as likely as the above situations.

    Good Luck
