IE/Firefox Can't display content error messages

    Hi Guys,

Well as it says on the tin, sometimes, and increasingly so, when i try to start internet explorer or firefox on the wireless laptop, it brings up the message that it can't display the content. It's started to do it on the main wired pc too now. Also, on msn messenger, it says it can't connect due to DNS/IP faults.

The same thing is happening with my brother's wireless network at home too! Anyone got any ideas?!

    Help appreciated!
    Cheers

    Joe

I'm assuming that you are using a personal wireless router. How old is it? Have you been able to use the wireless access before? If so have you done an update to the router? You might try reseting your router's default settings. You should see the manufacturer's website on how to do this or perhaps the owners manual. If you are able to reset the settings then test it out by changing nothing & try to connect. To rule out the possibility don't even change the security settings, add encryption or any other security feature. If it still doesn't work work if it is new enough then you might consider going to the store you bought it from & exchanging it or calling the manufacturer's tech support. Also try to find out if your receivers in or attached to our computers are compatible with the router. What version of windows are on the computers that you are trying to connect to it?

Reread your post & saw that this is happening to the wired computer. Is this a computer connected through an ethernet cable? This might be an indication that it is malfunctioning but try to reset the router to the default settings.

I know that mSn has been flaky since previous weekend. I belong to Harley forum at MSN and it was so buggy that I couldn't access member profile or reply to posts without hitting refresh 4 or 5 times and other members were having problems also. When I contacted manager of the forum he told even adminitrators ha trouble logging on.

The HTT site was sabotaged yesterday someone - or some group - trying to shut it down. First the moderation settings were toyed with then it escalated. All assistants and old managers were temporarlily removed until the source is determined.
