    IE 7 Home page problem

I'm having problem with IE 7. Somehow my home page has been set to "about blank". I've gone in and tried to reset it to a number of different web sites, but it won't keep them. This seems to have happened after a deleted the browser history. I'm running Vista Home Basic and I did a system restore to before this problem popped up, but that didn't help.

Does this happen when you start IE too, or only when opening a new tab? Note the setting under Internet Options > General > Tabs > Settings for Open home page for new tabs instead of a blank page. Make sure the button is ticked if you want your home page on new tabs.

Are you able to use the Internet otherwise?

And to be safe, I recommend you run a thorough malware scan. If you do not have a complete arsenal of anti-malware tools, please see my sticky, Cleaning Out Malware.

I just downloaded and ran spyware doctor and it found some trojans and deleted them. Now I have control of my home page again. Should I post a hijackthis log?

If you have run a complete and thorough malware scan with a full arsenal of tools, and you are still having problems, then a log (in the appropriate forum) may be necessary. But if all scans come clean, and the computer seems to be working fine otherwise, I see no need for a HJT log. Just make sure you keep a disciplined approach to practicing safe computing every time you use the computer.
