problem with javascript commands
Hello,
I don't know if this is a problem with 'java' or 'javascripting'. Anyway, I am having problems with links that use this java.
For example, on google's video site, when I try to move the images using the direction arrows, nothing happens. However, the message that appears at the bottom of the screen reads "javascript:void(0)" (when the cursor is positioned over them) and "error on page" when clicked.
Initially, I thought that it might have just been that site or on that occasion. Unfortunately, although the messages are different, results are the same (nothing happens).
Now, I checked to see that the scripting for java applets was enabled in the internet options. I used a java test to see if that was working correctly and I have tried both IE7 and Firefox browsers to see if that made a difference. I am using Vista but I am hoping that is not the cause. Some I am stuck as want to look for or change. So if anyone could shed some light that would be greatly welcomed.

Try updating your Java Application.

Thank you kevinzheng.101 for your response,
Unfortunately, in my attempts to solve this problem, I tried was replacing (re-installing the java or javascripting (I don't which or if there is a difference or if this is what you are referring to)).
Now, although the animated characters that show this had been successfully installed were blissfully dancing across my screen, when I tried using java enabled programming, again nothing happened.

Here are some possible problems that can cause JavaScript failure and some solutions.
Popup blocker blocking the JavaScript > Disable popup blocker
Malfunctioning web proxy > disable proxy if possible
Improperly written JavaScript > Webmaster must re-write script
JavaScript is not enabled > Enable JavaScript
Web Browser Implementation of JavaScript is broken > Upgrade/Update web broswer or switch browsers
See if any of this helps. Sorry for the delay in response, I haven't got much tome to go on to this site.
