I created a site for a mate a year ago- using streamline.net.
It is only 1 page- so i dont really wanna have to pay £40 a year for them to host it!

does anyone have any suggestions as to how i can get this cheaper!?

Look at http://www.1and1.co.uk they have some good deals for small sites. I have a number of projects with them and although I wouldn't say their support is exactly 5 star in my opinion they offer good value for money.

I tried also this once ramphosting.com... they offer cheap web hosting... I hope it helps...

If it's one page, doesn't your 'mate' have free webspace with their net provider? I know most give around 50MB - BT and Virgin certainly do.
