Hi,

At home since last night i haven't been able to connect to the internet..

I'm with Tiscali and have a Belkin Router, Both lights on the Belkin router are on but i can't even get into the settings of the router..

On the bottom right of the screen a yellow exclamation mark appears over the internet icon and when i click on this the status says is has limited or no connection.. When i click on details the Physical Adress down to submet mask are showing something but Default Gateway, DNS server and WNS server aren't..

Try removing the router and run the ethernet cable directly into the pc. If you can access the internet then the router may be faulty. If you still can't access the internet then there may be a fault with Tiscali.

Is it a wired or wireless router?

It is a wireless router, well one laptop is running wirelessly from it and my desktop and xbox are connected via ethernet cable..

The ethernet cable runs from the pc to the router..

I've tried ping 192.168.2.1 but it says unreachable host so i'm sure this is where the problem is.

ok do this press start -> run -> type in cmd and perss enter -> then type in ipconfig and remember your ip adress and your default gateway
if the IP address is in the range of 169. 254.x.x or 0.0.0.0 then the PC is not communicating with the router and it means either somthing is unplugged or its a faulty router but if your ip shows as 192.168.x.x then its all ok with the router
to get your routers settnigs up open internet explorer and type in the ip that you found for default gateway as a adress and it should pop up a login screen that is if the router and your pc are comuniacting and ask for a password.... the password should be in the routers manual so look for it there and after configure the router when all is done turn off the pc and unplug the router from the internet cable and from its power then plug it all back switch your pc on and it should work
remember about puttnig no a password so people dont steal your internet like i used to frmo my nabhour with a wireless internet card xD

Hi, Thanks for all your help..

I've finally got it going now... I don't how i did it really i reset the router, i held a pin in for about 10secs and then the internet light didn't come on. Then i was able to go into the settings of the router and reboot it, luckily it worked..

I blame tiscali for the problem in the first place and there technical support were no help..
