e-mail in mallorca
My cousin stays in Mallorca, and has recently started using broadband from Telefonica.
She is able to receive e-mails, and link to the internet, but cannot send e-mails. Keeps coming up with an authentication error.
After three weeks of trying to get a username/password to enter into the authentication section of Outlook Express when setting up an e-mail, Telefonica sent her an email address of (the 9's are a substitute her telephone number) 999999999@telefonica.net with a password, and said that the username was 999999999$telefonica.net and to set her own password say 999999.
Via the wonders of logmein, I tried to setup e-mail. I did get the 999999999@telefonica.net working to send and receive e-mails, but her personal e-mail address (e.g. my.name@mydomain.com) just won't send.
Continually failing with authentication errors although I have set the "My Server Requires authentication" to the username and password.
Does anyone know if Telefonica allows non-Telefonica e-mails to be sent through their servers.
Does anyone know how this can be set up.
Thanks
Rannoch

The answer is to set up a non-telefonica smtp with authentication.
