Are you saying if you set IE Security to Medium/High and then you restart IE that this setting has changed?

Also as to cookie problems in general a firewall is the best tool.

Yes everytime IE is started it is set to accept all cookies, so I set it to medium/ high and works until IE is closed then it starts all over again. I have a Dell Dimension 3100 windows xp multimedia edition and am using Norton IS 2007 and zone alarm firewall but also using Mcafee antivirus (don't know whether to get rid of this coz it has become very sluggish since installing)

You have the potential for many conflicts with all those programs.

I personally do not like any of them individually and can only imagine the conflicts using them together.

One firewall & one anti virus.

AVG is free and Superior to either Norton or McAfee.

As to a firewall Comodo is free and highly recommended over ZA and the rest.

Have got rid of Mcafee, but still having problems. I think I may have a virus/adware/spyware on system as norton says the it has blocked trojan horse/vondu etc. So I tried spybot and that apparently got rid of them but norton said that spybot contained a virus! I am very confused as to what to believe (also using windows defender)
