Email account query.

    Email account query.

I have my internet connection bundled into my home phone account. As a part of this deal I can run five email accounts with the internet provider, Optusnet. I use two - one of which is mentioned in my signature, and another which I use for private correspondence.
I can access both these accounts through the Optusnet website. I can also access the private address through Outlook Express. Here's my problem: Outlook Express shows all the details you'd expect with inbox, sent, new mail etc, but accessing this account via Optus shows me nothing. "There are no messages in this mailbox" - well, I know that's bs, because I can see all the details in OE.

It's the same email address I'm checking in both instances, why does one show a blank? How can I change this?

If you want a copy left on the Optus account you need to open OE, go to tools/accounts and click on each account/properties. Once the properties opens up, click on the advanced tab and tick the box down the bottom that says 'leave a copy of messages on the server'.
Be aware though that most isp's limit the size of the mailbox and it doesnt take long to fill up.

Thanks Tas, my first message has come through - what a surprise, I've used up all my internet allowance. Back to the slow rate until July.

I don't like Optus for that reason and the fact they don't even offer broadband in Tasmania. I figure if they dont want to upgrade us they don't get my business.
