Thinking about switching over from DSL to an Air Card (Sprint/Verizon 595 type) for all the time use. Can the cards handle it?

Also, I want to run the card on one lap & connect it to our wireless router so a second lap could use the internet. I know there's special ($) routers you can buy, but I seem to have all the compoinits? Perhaps just lacking software to make the components work in a new fashion..
