unknown error message.

hi all, just started with this problem yesterday.
when i click on certain websites,i get the above
message(click to open).
it's quite random, ranging from logging into
yahoo mail,to the opening page on D-A-L.
i have to click the message 2 or3 times
for it to disappear, then everything works
fine, until i click a link on any affected webpage.
it does the same when i hit the back buton.
the only thing i've done which i think may
affect the running of my internet,is to run
CC cleaner, and also advanced windows care pro,
and then to fix any problems which these program
may have found(automatic repair).
i know that CC cleaner asks if i want to save
the changes being made to my registry, which i
clicked yes to(saved in my documents).
i've also tried system restore, but no luck.
i'm running windows XP SP2,using the latest
firefox browser(version 2-0-0-3).
any help greatly appreciated.
any more info required,please ask
thanx..........Daz.

Make sure you go into CCleaner option and uncheck "Only delete files in Windows Temp folders older than 48 hours". Then scan for spyware, viruses, and other malware. I have a canned text for this I can post if you want.

thanx for the reply Digerati,it's looking like
a problem with a firefox extension,or one of
the themes,i turned them all off,and the problem
has gone.
gonna switch them on 1 by 1 to see which one
is causing the problem.

hi,looks like it's mcafee site advisor causing
the trouble in my firefox add ons,it's the only
one that brings up the original issue.
gonna uninstall and try a fresh download.

I would uninstall it, then run a Registry cleaner to ensure any corrupt or incorrect settings for McAfee SA are not left behind. I recommend CCleaner. Not only is it a great disk cleaning program that is excellent at cleaning the system of 1000s of temporary files, but CCleaner's "Issues" checker is a great Registry cleaner as well. Ensure you follow the prompts to backup the Registry before making changes to it. It is often necessary to scan for issues 2 or 3 times until it reports, "No issues were found". [TIP: Run CC before malware scans and defragging - no need to scan 1000s of temporary files!]
