Losing internet connection.

    Losing internet connection.

This has been going on for a while now. I have XP sp2. For example when I open internet explorer it takes a couple of minutes for it to load up the page. Then every few minutes I lose connection and have to reload the page. It comes up fine and works perfect until it loses connection again. Also with programs that have to connect to the internet for upgrades it can have a problem. Like with AVG it may take me several times before I can get a connection and download the upgrades. Also, I have been using Bitcomet for a while now and that program really has problems. When I load it up it takes a few minutes to load properly and if I click anywhere while its loading it will freeze the program. And then once it gets going like internet explorer it will lose its connection but when this happens it freezes up an I have to end task. What is going on?
    Thanks for any help.

Hey, I am connected through a regular ethernet line and yes in happens consistently through out the day. any suggestions? Also I know it does not matter the way I am connected because I have now had this computer at three different houses, one being wireless, and it did the same thing at every single one of them.

what isp do you have and where is the location do you live because some places don't have a strong connection area and you may have a virus on your computer

    Download LSPFix by clicking here:
    http://www.snapfiles.com/get/lspfix.html
    Or here:
    http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm

To run it, be sure you are NOT connected to the Internet.

Please, make sure that all IE browser windows and internet connections are closed. Run the program (LSPFix) and click the "I know what I'm doing" box.

Highlite all instances of "Mkls.dll" and move them to the "Remove" side and click finish. Don't remove anything else there.

Do a full power down REBOOT.

Navigate to and delete this file:
    c:\winnt\system32\mkls.dll

Post a new HijackThis log. Let us know if that resolves your current issues.

What was it, ad-aware? Anything I should stay away from so I do not get it again?
YES - malware/adware. Possibly acquired through back luck or via drive-by-download (at a bad site):
    http://www.castlecops.com/lsp-205.html
    http://fileinfo.prevx.com/filesearch...earch=Mkls.dll

Layered Service Providers (LSPs) entries become part of a chain of processes that impact how the internet works as an integrated unit of inter-related processes. Mkls.dll is known malware parasite related to and known as 'MarketScore / Relevant Knowledge' that somehow inserted itself into the chain to gather and feed info.

Somewhere along the line the infection got deleted or corrupted and the chain of processses were no longer working properly because of a possible missing entry. The process that you ran reinstated and rebuilt the proper operational defaults and any additional remaining components present to put things back to normal.

    NOTE:
LSP entry for mdnsnsp.dll is a known valid process:

Save 20% on AVG Internet Security 2012 Suite!
I would say that your issues would be consistent with using a P2P (Peer-to-Peer) site such as BitComet.exe. You are always potentially one download away from trouble on such sites.

I see no further issues of concern with your current HijackThis log.
