Hi everyone,

Not sure if I'm in the correct forum topic, but I have made a big mistake today and downloaded a free font from the net which seems to have corrupted my pc.
The download was in a zip file from 1001 Fonts.com.
Since installing the font, I am unable to type any text in Microsoft Word (can type but all the text is 'invisible')
And most of the text on all websites is missing.
I have now removed all traces of the font - zip file and from font folder.
I am currently running the AVG Free Test Centre, but no virus results yet.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
I am already banging my head against the wall for being so stupid!

Try a system restore to a point prior to the problem.

start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore

You said you are running AVG, how about AVG anti-spyware. If you do not have it, download from here (software is recommended by d-a-l):

Downloading free stuff from questionable sites could be fatal. A few years ago, I downloaded WeatherBug to get live up-to-the second outside temperate report as an icon on my status bar. Long story short, my computer stopped functioning all together because of thousands of pop up keep coming at met. I had my computer cleaned. Of course, Weatherbug got removed. Later I heard the same story from other people regarding weatherbug.

I have restarted and problem seems to be resolved...

Don't seem to have System Restore.
I'm using 98SE.
Under System Tools I've got - Disk Clean up, Disk Defrag, Maintenance Wizard, Scan Disk, Scheduled Tasks, System Info, System Monitor.

Am currently downloading AVG Free Anti Spyware. Have been using Sygate Personal Firewall Pro, but I'm not happy with it, so thanks for the tip.
