Does anyone know how to change the sort order of the folders to something that makes sense?
(I'm talking about:Right click on page>Add to Favorites>Create in:Favorites drop down.)
Thanks,

What doesn't make sense?
If you want an alphabetical list click Favorites (Star) and then right click in the drop down and choose Sort by Name.
Yes, and that sort order makes perfect sense. If you want an alphabetical list click Favorites (Star) and then right click in the drop down and choose Sort by Name
If you right click on a page and select Add to Favorites, and then click on the down arrow in the drop down box (Create in: Favorites), -that- order is totally screwed...especially if you have hundreds of favorites and use numbers, spaces, etc. as the first character. Besides that, every folder is expanded which makes things even worse. What doesn't make sense?

When I do it I get the exact same thing as if I click the star.
Alphabetically listed closed folders.
I have everything in folders and generally renamed any irregular entries but anyway I see no difference on my system.
I tried to screen shot but the drop down list clicks off before the shot.
And yours looks like this (before the dropdown)?
Got a shot of the drop down:
![]()
Ahh, man...I'm jealous.<g>
Fwiw, I'm at Version 7.0.5730.11.
And many others have complained of the same thing on the microsoft IE usenet group. I'm thinking seriously of going back to IE6 because of it. I've spent hours searching the Registry looking for something which might fix it.<sigh>
I have also seen the issue posted often.
I think the difference between you and me is that I have no sub-folders.
My folders are just full of links.
One thing you can try is go to the star on the tool bar and close all your main folders there.
The other suggestion is not to save individual links in their own folder but in a parent directory (or folder).
Also it is easiest to sort out and arrange your favorites by going through C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Favorites
