    Problems with IE7...or laptop...?

    Hi,

I'm not sure whether this problem is caused by IE or by hardware, but pretty much every time I start up my laptop (Dell Inspiron 9300) and start IE, within a couple of mins of using it, normally with a couple of tabs open, it'll crash. It then takes a minute or so for the task manager to close down the "non-responsive" program, so that I can restart IE, and the same sometimes happens a further once or twice.
I've had the laptop a year and a half, the problem only started last December or so, and I thought it was due to my having a lot of photo and video-editing programs on my laptop which I'd been using. I wiped the HD over Christmas and re-installed only the things I needed, so it was back to its original operating conditions, under which it was fine. However the problem persists. The thought crossed my mind that it had had a knock too many or something, and a heatsink had got knocked out of place, since the processor fan also spins up a lot more readily now. However my warranty has expired, so any suggestions or advice is most welcome!

    Many thanks in advance!
