each time i try to use ie, I'm getting a page from mikrotik.com. no matter what i do i can't seem to get rid of the page. regardless what site i try to get it just won't go away. I'm using an HP Compaq nx 6110 laptop with WIN XP. my other problem is I can't get any live update on my Symantec antivirus, even though I can browse using firefox......HELP

Maybe you visited it and added or it may have added it to your start page.

Change your start page to about:blank if it still displays the site mentioned then do a hijackthis scan.

I have never visted this site before and I have tried to change my home page with no luck. How do I do a hijackthis scan?
