My mother has also been getting the crashes from Windows Internet Explorer...ever since she got some update form Microsoft...I will look and try to get the exact error code details to post here...in the meantime i Just sent her Mozilla Firefox to use in place of it

Internet Explorer is completely different from Windows Explorer which is part of explorer.exe the GUI of Windows.

Has your mom upgraded to IE7? That might be a good idea.
