Fixed one problem and now I have another. I followed the MS instructions (article 917288) and all worked pretty well until I got the the last step. I was suppose to open OE and my dictionary would be empty and I would import the backup. However, the original dictionary was still there and OE seems to be working correctly.

Then I noticed that IE had disappeared! The desktop shortcut is gone as is the link in the All Programs. So somehow I've fixed OE and broken IE. I generally use Firefox, but need IE for certain sites. I have found IEXPLORE on my disk and restored the shortcut, but this is pretty strange.

IE and OE and two peas in a pod as it were. Therefore the one affecting the other is to be expected.
