    Unhappy cONNECTION FAILURE - GENERIC WIN32 SERVICES ERROR!!!

    Can anyone help me????????

    am having serious issues with my laptop!! every time i cnnect to the internet it shuts down after a couple of minutes saying a "generic win32 services error has occured and it needs to shut down"

    on reviewing my error logs on my computer it states the following

    Faulting application svchost.exe, version 5.1.2600.2180, faulting module netapi32.dll, version 5.1.2600.2180, fault address 0x0000a3c0.

    Fault bucket 05253549


    I run on xp and I have tocali broadband, i tried to see if this was a broadband modem issue and am currently using dial up, the problem still exists, but it takes longer to disconnect me.....

    can anyone help me, I am so not technical at all and I can never get through to the acer helpline

    I have only had the laptop for 2 months, so I assume its pretty updated, how do I find this out?

    was it new, is it running XP

    even new computers may be in the store for a while and XP ha sbeen having updates each month.

    what anti virus are you running

    I have norton anti virus - my frimd ran a virus scan and every thing was ok

    Save 20% on AVG Internet Security 2012 Suite!
    to get the updates you realy need to go to microsofts site.

    I've seen on another website where this problem is to do with Norton, but I'm not too sure

    can you please follow the instructions Here and then post your log in a new thread in the Spyware, Adware section. (Not here please). with a brief explanation of what the symptoms are
