    Internet Disconnecting

Hello Chaps, I am using Firefox as my browser and BT broadband. Every so often my internet connection keeps disconnecting and comes up with the CONNECTION RESET message or SERVER NOT FOUND - Any ideas? http://www.d-a-l.com/help/newthread....newthread&f=7#

    How often?

Is this a new problem? Were things working OK previously? Any new hardware and or software?

When you reset is everything OK again?

It is not uncommon for ISP's to drop connections. If this is only a problem once or twice a day I would suspect that it is just your ISP's failure.

    Hello Jephree

This is happening frequently within a session of browsing, I find that after browsing for a minute or so I just get disconnected and have to re-connect again but the same thing happens again a couple of minutes after I start browsing. Yes everything was ok previously and I haven't added any new hard/software. Also since posting this thread I'm getting an error message every time I boot up my laptop SMARTBRIDGE ALERTS BTHelpNotifier.exe - Entry point Not Found. The procedure entry point GetProcessImageFileNameW could not be located in the dynamic link library PSAPI.DLL

    Any ideas?

    Is this XP?

I see this error associated with IE7 Beta but you said you use Firefox? Have you downloaded IE7 Beta?

    http://www.google.com/search?sourcei...Notifier%2eexe

    Assuming XP:

Try a System Restore to a point prior to the problem:

start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore

System Restore is easy and can be undone if necessary.

Just pick a date when everything was OK. Perhaps prior to IE7.

You might want to remove IE7 anyway.

Let us know how it goes.

It is Beta software at this point. Beta software is for testing purposes and should never be used on a computer that is not run for testing purposes.

This issues appears to be a conflict with IE7 Beta and BT broadband.

When IE7 is released in a final version all these issues should be ironed out.

It was reported today that the final version of IE7 will be offered thru Windows Update either the end of this year or the beginning of next.
