Hi as a novice user I have screwed things up and need some help. I have been plagued with the home search problem which I take it hijacked my internet explorer.I tried to uninstall explorer using add/remove programs,when this didnt' solve it I tried to remove files manually then download a new explorer.When I try to load a new explorer it tells me there is one already detected and declines to load.I now have no usable explorer and in program files there is only an empty connection wizard folder.
I am using Windows ME and at moment using my aol browser but can't use links between web pages.
Also when starting computer I get a message which reads-cannot import c:windows\sp.dll error opening the file.may be error on disk or file system.I have run scandisk with no joy.

Windows version? IE version?

Hi Bear cheers for replying. My windows version is Windows ME and my Internet Explorer version was IE6 I think. I'm sure I had fully upgraded it before this happened. Can't click on the link you gave I just get a blank screen,would that be related to original problem? Thanks for the advice.

Do you have another browser installed like Opera, Netscape, Firefox, or any other browser? If so are you having the same problems in those browsers as well? If you have another browser try completly uninstalling IE and use another browser to get a fresh copy of IE. Let us know if this doesn't help.

Hi there I tried to uninstall it again then reinstall it and this time it worked for some reason. Now I've got this home search thing to deal with,any suggestions. cheers
