    Angry Detecting Proxy Settings

    Hello,

I am a college student, staying in the dorms. I am connected to the internet through a LAN using my laptop. Sometimes the internet connection works perfectly and at other times there is a LAN connection but I cannot open any internet page; whenever I open IE I see the message "Detecting Proxy Settings" on the status bar.

I am behind a proxy server, in the internet connetion settings there is an automatic confiugartion script, its address is: http://www.aub.edu.lb/autoproxy.pac.

I tried to contact the computer department several times, but I cannot get this issue solved...

I would really appreciate it if anybody can help!!!

    Thank you

Have you checked your Proxy settings under > Tools > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings... > Proxy server?

    Thanks,

It's still the same! I've checked the links u sent already...

But as for the proxy address, I don't need to put it because it seems to be included in that automatic script. Even if I put the proxy address and the port, it would be the same...

I tried to update the driver and that didn't change the matter. I tried disabling the network card and then enabling it, it worked somehow... I don't know if that is a coincidence! Because as I told it disconnects and connects back again all of a sudden!

    Thanks again...

Go to internet connections and lan settings, then make sure nothing is checked, not even detect proxy settings automatically.
