"..sorry for the inconvenience"

Newbie here, be gentle!

I'm getting this error message window appear whenever I try to fire up either IE6 or my BTYahoo browser. I can connect to the internet OK, but the browser window tries to open, displays the error message, then shuts down.

The error report keeps referring to a file "mshtmled.dll" - is this what's causing my problem?

I've already run a full AVG (up-to-date) virus check and a Microsoft Spyware check - no problems. I also did a disk defrag for good measure, which didn't help.

Referring me to online debuggers, virus checks etc is not really an option as I cannot get my browser to access any online content!

Any suggestions gratefully received!

Thanks mate - I fixed this myself yesterday; found a different hotfix (KB912912) which did the job.
