First my current setup:
Windows XP Pro, AOL 9.0 Gold (512k limit though), Norton Internet Security 2006.
Now.....
I recently replaced my BT Voyager 100 Modem, with a Netgear Wireless ADSL Network Starter Kit (DGB111G) as I want to network my two computers (Can't do it either, I've posted that problem on the Network Forum), I managed to install the router and can now access the internet without the BT Modem.
But.....
For some strange reason certain websites are not working when I use Internet Explorer 6.0, yet they do work when I use the on AOL 9.0's explorer. I hate AOL's explorer, and always use IE, but why would some of these sites not work anymore, a couple of examples are cnet.com and my Lycos email, they work with AOL, but not IE.
Any ideas why this is happening?
Thanks for any help I get.

After installing the USB Adaptor on the other computer I can't seem to get the computers networked, to be honest I don't know where to begin, and there seems to be little to know instructions on getting the network operational in the box.
Does anybody else have my type of set up, or have any idea what I need to do to get the network working?

just check microsoft firewall settings for allowed sites
hope this helps
I Don't use Windows Firewall though, I've turned it off, I use Norton 2006.Originally Posted by spud
aol has a built in firewall on the router if you have turned off windows firewall check the permissons in the norton firewall settings
hope this helps
Not quite sure what you mean by permissions, but there are no individual sites being blocked if thats waht you mean, anyway I can access the sites on AOL, but not Internet Explorer, thats the problem.Originally Posted by spud
Why would I be able to get to them on AOL, but not IE, seems a strange problem to me.
because ie has its own security system where it will allow you to see certain sites or the same thing can happen through your version of norton in the firewall settings it may not be this but i would start here to make sure
i am 99% certain it is a firewalll issue
open ie then tools then internet ioptions then security there you will see whats being allowed to be vioewed through internet explorer
which should look like this
