    IE link to Outlook

    Hello all,

I have a question on IE links back to outlook. When I click on a email link, I expect outlook to open up a email editor. Instead I get a Microsoft Office Outlook error message

"Cannot start Microsot Office Outlook. A program error occured. Quit Outlook and Microsoft Windows and then start again."

I try everything but keep getting this message. I am running outlook 2000 SP-3 on Windows 2000. I know Mr. gates has provided a lot of issues with outlook vs. IE. Any help in this regards would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

Can you open Outlook from your Start Menu?

Is it only clicking e-mail reply links that draws this error?

Any other problems inside Outlook? Can you coompose and send mail? etc.

If I may qualify my question before answering your kind reply. The error occurs when I click on a email link on a web page. The normal behavior is that an email editor come up with the contacts email filled in for example. Instead I get the error as I stated in the previous entry. Now to answer your questions:
Yes I can open Outlook from thee Sart Menu.
The error occurs only when clicking a contact email link on any web page
All other functions within outlook work normally.

    Thanks for your help.

Are you sure that the error message says "Microsoft Office Outlook" and not just "Microsoft Outlook"? The reason I ask is because "Microsoft Office Outlook" is a name that has only been used since the 2003 version and, therefore, I'm wondering whether you've tried to install Outlook 2003 in the past and it has caused this problem now with Outlook 2000.
