In my history when i use the search option it comes up with websites i have visited even when i have deleted history and cleared cookies and deleted temp internet files. When i right click and select delete it doesnt work, when i click properties it tells me its an internet shortcut. it also comes up in my adress bar when i put the first letter in.

Can anyone help please.

Are you asking about IE? Or perhaps a toolbar? Google? Yahoo? etc.

Also if you do not want the auto complete go to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing > uncheck: Use in-line Auto Complete.

All these files are also stored as .dat files which you cannot delete without third party software.
