Are IP addresses traceable? Can you take the number and find out who it belongs to? How's that done?

to get your IP address go start..... run type cmd then type inipconfig that'll tell you your IP and if your on a MSN messerger service your IP address is being broadcast to all your talking to

yes, I have a few addresses I would like to be able to trace.

You can usually only find out the ISP of the person you are tracing and then the information won't be accurate if the person is using a proxy. There are programs that go into more detail but you usually have to pay for them. I use this.
