WinMedia Player Taken Over By Quicktime

My WinMedia Player works perfectly in MS browser. The recent ITunes software upgrade 6.0.0.23 cause the Quicktime Palyer to practically close down MSwinPlayer on Firefox. Win player operated perfectly before before the software upgrade. I have set all the defaults to make MS my default player.
    Thanks

Just to clarify: You have no problem with Internet Explorer.

    Firefox defaults to QuickTime?

What exactly do you mean by: "cause the Quicktime Palyer to practically close down MSwinPlayer"?

What are you doing? Playing online video? Why are both players open?

Uninstalling and reinstalling QuickTime might help.

First, let me thank you for your interest and help. I am going to make a contribution today. I hope my Pen Pal account is still active if not tell me how else I can send you a donation. Another generic question. How does one remove a post when issues are resolved?
Now to Quicktime. Yes, Win Media player works fine in Explorer. I did uninstall and reinstall Quicktime. Quicktime is part of Itunes software so with this newest software upgrade Itunes will not operate without the complete download which includes Quicktime. Until the software update Win Player worked great in Firefox. After the upgrade, deletion of the upgrade and reinstall of the upgrade. Quicktime now operates 18 out of 20 times in Firefox. It never operated before this upgrade. Yes, i have talked to Apple about it and they don't know what to do. Please acknowledge my donation as I am not sure about Pay Pal being current.

Have you checked your options under Tools > Options > Downloads > Download Actions > View & Edit Actions...

Click on a line and choose Open them with the Default Application which should be set to WMP.

    OK your way out...

    jephree,

First, thanks again. I did send a donation by Pay Pal, please acknowledge. The step by step settings you have described aboove do not exit or are not available in Firefox, or Quicktime is that what you meant?

Those actions are available in Firefox... take another quick look... The Download option is at the very top of the window over to the right hand side

There is an option shown under file types shown for MPEG and WMV there is not an option to select WMP. There is also a long list of plug-ins which include Quicktime. Still not there yet.
    Thanks

Under the Download Actions there is a whole list of file extensions... it's those that you change to open with certain software

Sorry but I am unable to locate the window shown in your last email. Could you kindly tell me if you are saying this option is a Firefox command? Need very specific instructions on finding it. Simply does not appear whereever I look. Thanks.
