Unhappy IE 6 blocking all popups

    Dear ALL,

I would appreciate some assistance with this problem I am having with IE V6.00 (XP SP2)

Even though I have turned off The pop blocker in my yools menu in IE, and unistall every possible software that includes a pop blocker, IE still cannot access many sites because it thinks that it is supposed to block those pages.

    Should I unistall and re-install IE6?

If so how do I unistall IE V6.00

    Please Help!!

    Graham

IE6 is an integral part of XP. It cannot be uninstalled. SP2 actually contains the latest version of IE being IE SP2. If IE is damaged the repair procedure is to reinstall SP2.

That being said: a pop-up blocker would not prohibit access to web sites. Only pop-ups within a web site. Are you also running a Firewall (outside of SP2)?

If sites themselves are not being displayed your problem is elsewhere. Do you get the DNS Server Not Found error or what happens?

Anything in common with these sites? Is this a new problem? Did these sites work previously?

Under the Tools menu in IE, click on Internet Options. Go to privacy and turn your privacy to allow all cookies. (I think thats what it says), but anyways, then try these pages again. Thats all i can think of that jephree has not said. Good luck

yes they did- infact when i turned windows firewall off everything seemed back to normal- themn I foolishly restored default setting- and the problem is back-though not as severe as before.
