ISP Connection
Somehow a piece of software has got into my system which resets my connection user name and telephone number (probably to a premium rate number) - perhaps through a pop-up?
Although I can alter this through settings and preferences, I have to do it every time I want to go on-line. The reset happens at least as often as I boot the machine and sometimes after I have been online.
Is there some way of deleting this rogue information which must be stored as the default setting, and changing it permanently back to the proper settings?
Any ideas would be gratefully received
Many thanks

If you're on dialup make sure you don't save user password. Make sure you check the phone number it is dialing and it matches your isp dialup number then enter password.
These dialers have been coming a lot from servers in Nigeria, or by Nigerians in other countries. I wrote an article about it in a magazine a few months back. If you have broadband it will not affect you (well should not).
A victim of this who I wrote the piece on lost £4000 befor ehe noticed the problem.
