Urgent Help Required
I am currently an employee of a large automotive organisaion and utilise a DELL Latitude D610 laptop running Windows XP.
I have just discovered that my son had stolen my passwords and used them to dial in to my place of work remotely -
Worse than that he had looked at 'less-than-scrupulous' web sites and viewed some streamin media etc etc. i am sure you get the picture.
My problem is I need to remove all traces of his actions from my system as my company has a strict policy around such actions i.e. I WILL LOOSE MY JOB!!
I have done the normal - delete temp internet files / cookies etc. I have downloaded Spyware Doctor and removed all spyware that it can detect from the system BUT - when I logged on to another computer at my work place it infected it with SPYWARE - and when the network team investigated the PC my user ID came up with all the 'Dodgey' sites listed etc!
PLEASE HELP!

Well... You have a couple of options!
- Make sure that there are no Temporary files remaining in the computer and that the recycle bin has been emptied! [RISK OF BEING TRACED: QUITE HIGH]
- You can completely reinstall the system (after the full disk format) to make sure that there are no traces of the past activities (unless a data recovery software is run and the results carefully reviewed, what I believe is not likely to happen). [RISK OF BEING TRACED: ALMOST NONE]
- You can use System Restore to some time before "your son used your password to watch this and that". After that run a full system scan on http://www.housecall.antivirus.com to remove all the possibly malicious files/programs. Once the scan is done you should right click on My Computer->Properties->System Restore tab and check "Turn off System Restore on all drives" what will remove all the restore points available! After that you can reboot your system and turn the System Restore back on, so the only restore points available are the "clean" ones! [RISK OF BEING TRACED: QUITE LOW]
In the future make sure to keep your password in the secure place (like your head only!) and don't make it too easy to guess!
