    shdoclc.dll\dnserror.htm

    Hi

Since last night i have been trying to access the internet and i can't. When a page tries to upload i keep getting the message shdoclc.dll\dnserror.htm . Before that happened, i got 2 trojans Clicker.FR and Agent.EX which neither AVG or The Cleaner managed to get rid off. My browser is Internet Explorer.

I tried to download and install firefox but it doesn't work either.

I have tried to scan my pc with Ad-Aware SE Personal but it crushes and stops running. The same happens when i try to scan it with spybot search & destroy.

I've run HijackThis on my pc and this is the log:

    Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.1

Have you looked at this page: http://www.annoyances.org/exec/forum/winme/1092871853 ???

Also from some previous posts regarding this isssue (http://www.d-a-l.com/help/showthread...2583#post42583) updating the system can make the things to "run more smoothly"!

    Thank you for your reply.

I followed some of the instructions. My internet started working again which is fortunate but my AVG still comes up with trojans that it can't heal or delete or quarantine. It comes up with Clicker.FR, Generic.LUR, Generic.JJR and Agent.EX .

And generally it doesn't run too smoothly. But i didn't do any updates to be honest. Cause i don't know how to do that.

    Any suggestions?

    Hey Aalyah!

I am happy to hear that you are back online!

REMOVING TROJANS: To remove the trojans that you can't get rid of with AVG I would recommend booting up to the safe mode with networking (Turn the computer on, keep on pressing "F8" button every second until you see a black screen with modes you can start the computer in - pick safe mode with networking). Once you are in the safe mode with networking go to this website http://www.trendmicro.com/hc_intro/default.asp to scan your computer against viruses, spyware, adware, etc! The scan may take a while but its worth it! After the scan is done and you remove all the garbage restart the computer.

UPDATING: Once you are in the normal mode just go to http://update.microsoft.com/ to update your operating system.

    GOOD LUCK!

    I have followed your instructions.

The pc seems to run better now. I did not manage to update my operating system. It comes up with an error. I don't know why.

Also Internet Explorer sometimes crushes and a pop up tells me that the program is not responding. After i close that window and double click on the IE icon again explorer loads normally.

I don't know if that has anything to do with my previous problem or not.

Thank you again very much for your help!

    Hello!

I am glad that your PC runs better!

If I can suggest something (it is not a solutionn, but more of a work-around) about
the IE problem is to use alternative browser like Firefox (www.mozilla.com).
IE likes to crash and give problems to innocent people, so I guess Firefox is the
way to go now! But if you really like IE you can try reinstalling it!
Here is an article on how to do that: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=258893

Also, what exactly is the Windows Update error saying?

    Good luck!

    I have already installed firefox.

As you are perfectly right IE causes a lot of pain so i decided to install firefox cause i could not be bothered with it anymore.

About the windows update i tried to do it again to see what the error message says but this time it did it. So everything is ok. I guess.

Thanks again, one more time, for all your help.

Save 20% on AVG Internet Security 2012 Suite!
But i don't know how to state that is solved.

Ok.....can i do that or not?
