Security alert message when entering a new site

Hi, i dont know if anyone can help me with the problems i am experiencing on my pc.

For the past month it has been playing up, firstly it kept not displaying web pages and the time on my desktop changed to one month ahead of time, i asked advice on another forum and someone suggested i uninstall msn messenger which i did, and the problem of the web pages not appearing seemed to correct itself.
However i still had to manually change my date to the correct date, since then i keep getting a message box come up every time i go on some websites i.e ebay and my hotmail account it reads:- Security alert Information you exchange with this site cannot be viewed or changed with others. However, there is a problem with the sites security certificate.
Then when i click on 'view certificate' it reads :- certificate has expired or is not valid.

Another problem is when i try to update with windows an error comes up and says that my date and time are not correct, even though they are!!!!?!

Yet another problem i am having is that i have just upgraded my norton internet security and it is refusing to update my virus protection!!??!

All of this seems to have occured since i installed google earth,(and then uninstalled it when i realised i was havingthese problems!) perhaps acoincidence?

I hope all of this makes sense and someone can advise me as what i should be doing.

I am wanting to back up my files but im not going to do it while i have these problems.

    Thanks
    Lenn

how old is the PC, has the CMOS battery gone flat ?

it may be worth your time going to the spyware thread and posting a hijack log

Save 20% on AVG Internet Security 2012 Suite!
    what make PC is it?

on your motherboard there's a button battery that keeps the date etc.

try a hijack log then if any spyware etc is on your PC it can be removed
