Depends on Your Operating System. And what's the Error Signature?

    shdocvw.dll?

If You are using XP , do You have SP2 installed?

The error signature would have been a particular file pointed out as erring.

This doesn't appear to be your issue but it would be worth trying:

To resolve this problem in Internet Explorer, follow these steps:
    1. Quit all programs that are running.
    2. Click Start, and then click Run.
    3. Type: regsvr32 urlmon.dll and then click OK.
    4. When you receive the "DllRegisterServer in urlmon.dll succeeded" message, click OK.
If this does not resolve the problem, repeat steps 2 through 4 for each of the following files (in step 3, replace Urlmon.dll with each of the file names below):
    • Shdocvw.dll
    • Actxprxy.dll
    • Oleaut32.dll
    • Mshtml.dll
    • Browseui.dll
    • Shell32.dll

If you have a retail version of XP you can run sfc /scannow via start/run

This will repair all system files (including IE). You will need to insert your disk.

Where do i find the error signature?

    Plus

everytime i write Shdocvw.dll onto the start/run and click "OK" says "cant open" then it says "open with" so click it says

    1. use web to find the aproprite progam
    2. select the program from a list

i try the first one. and it goes onto interent and it tells me about something i dont understand like.."file type" "u can get info by the file"
    try second
shows me a whole list of progams but im not sure which to click, so i tryed interent explorer, and then it all goes away and nothing happens

JUST FIGURED OUT THE error signature!

    Its

    iexplore.exe

    which is internet explorer...

but theres lots of parts to the error signature and that is the appname

    theres also

    appver
    modname
    modver
    offset

Try running the above files again. What you need to type is:

Type: regsvr32 urlmon.dll and then click OK.

Type: regsvr32 Shdocvw.dll and then click OK.

Type: regsvr32 Actxprxy.dll and then click OK.

    etc. for the following:

    • Oleaut32.dll
    • Mshtml.dll
    • Browseui.dll
    • Shell32.dll
