My Broadband conection has started to act strangely. It started about a week ago when online it just disconnected. Now we start the computer up and the two green lights come on on the modem then after about 30 seconds the ADSL light starts to flash. If we unplug the phone line form the wall and shove it back in again it connects no problem, but it is a pain and involves running up and down stairs and moving furniture. Can anyone help please?
Also we installed the new Norton antivirus and now it takes like 10 minutes from turning the machine on to getting into my email, is there anyway to speed the thing up?

ok, norton will slow you down. get black ice or something similar.

you also need to reboot your modem. unplug the modem wait a couple minutes. turn it back on. then go into:

START>RUN>type CMD hit enter> type IPCONFIG /RELEASE> then type IPCONFIG /RENEW after you do that let me know what happens. and note that there is a space between the IPCONFIG and the / so ipconfig*/ whereas the asterix is a space.

HI, ok my modem is working ok at the moment. I think it is so slow because it is not powerful enough for Norton. Thanks for the help.
