I use AOL 9.0 512kbps (but its Gold Membership). Recently, my internet connection keeps cutting off saying in the bottom right hand corner in a yellow bubble ''Local Area Connection 3, a network cable is unplugged''.
My connection usually cuts of for about half a minute or more, unable to access werbsites etc. then it comes back on again automatically, but it does these reasonable often and can be a bit frustrating, does anybody know why this is?
I use XP Pro if that helps.
It could be for a number of reasons. AOL, Your phone line, the local exchange, have you contacted AOL?Originally Posted by mr_film
do u have any other phones plugged in withouta a dsl filter? my parents regually plug a random phone into a socket without a dsl filter, and it makes my connection do that when someone trys to call.
Aol does seem to be very temprimental as mine often does that without any cause, but ususaly kicks back in after a few min
No i have DSL filters on both the phones, and also on the SKY connection which uses a telephone line, but maybe it is just AOL which is unreliable, I hate AOL.Originally Posted by clairelovestlc
i hate aol too, another thing that causes aqol to go down... are u using the master phone socket? im not, they said that could be why mine randomly goes down ( which i think is alod of rubbish)
