Hope this is the correct section. Anyone else use AOL? Been getting a pop up over the last 2 weeks from AOL saying I need to download some rubbish as the network I am using is soon to dispand.

Tonight I clicked the download (very reluctant due to past AOL problems) and had loads of trouble.... could not get on line, spent 90 minutes on their helpline and they tried telling me the problem was my shiny 3 month old £1500 DELL system.

That is utter cr*p, the problem started once I clicked their download. Went onto sytem restore and restored the sytem back to how it was 2 days ago and got back on line no probs. However still being told I have to do this download.

Rang the AOL un-helpine back and they say I have till Wednesday to do the download or my service is cut. They say it is new drivers for my Voyager 100 modem or something like that and is an essential download.

I am running on AOL8 and they said I should upgrade to AOL9 which may help.

Just wondering is this due to the fact AOL8 is being dispanded?

Anyone any clues?
